FLUMERFELT, George William born February 20, 1929 in Montreal, Quebec, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, after a long battle with Alzheimer's on May 31, 2009 in Surrey, B.C. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Doris; his son George (Judy); 3 daughters Leslee (Bill), Ann (John), Laura (Bruce); 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many relatives and good friends. George graduated in 1952 with a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from McGill University. He enjoyed a very successful career in mining operations both in Canada and Ireland, then retired in 1991 as Vice President of Mining Operations for Westmin Resources Ltd. A Celebration of George's Life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at Victory Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28 Ave. Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Society of BC.
