PURDY, Gerry
Gerry (Gerald) Reid Purdy peacefully went to be with Jesus on August 31, 2009 at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village, White Rock, B.C. at the age of 83. Gerry will be remembered for his enjoyment of working with his hands and his favorite job of greeting visitors in the judge's chambers at Osgoode Hall in Toronto. An avid photographer in his youth, and refinisher of "found treasures", and his ability to fix things kept him busy. Gerry leaves behind Sherry (Olga) Purdy his devoted wife of more than 65 years. Father to the late Lori (Jim) Lynch of San Dimas, California, and surviving daughters Gail Purdy of White Rock and Kim (Gregg) Cantelmo of Chandler, Arizona. Grandfather to Matthew (Jennifer) Lynch, Anthony Cantelmo, Sarah Cantelmo, and Ashley (Grant) Blunt, and great grandfather to Levi and Malachi Lynch. Gerry was born in Bobcaygeon, Ontario and enjoyed living in southern California for many years prior to returning to Canada. His ashes will be buried at the Verulam Cemetery in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
