MARSH, Harry Wieland. (Russ)

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Russ passed away suddenly, but peacefully on Friday December 19, 2008 at Peace Arch Hospital. Born July 18, 1923 in Britain, joined the British Air Force and served in WW ll before moving to Canada in 1955 with his wife Peggy and daughter Fiona. Russ spent his years moving across Canada from Toronto, Mattice, Winnipeg, and finally settled in Vancouver. His career as a hospital administrator covered many hospitals, in Winnipeg at St Boniface Hospital and Misericordia Hospital and then Riverview (Essondale) Hospital in Vancouver. Peggy and Russ spent much of their time traveling visiting Egypt, Spain, Bahamas, Italy, France, Jamaica, Mexico, and Hawaii. Russ was always working on one project or another and kept all those around him running at full speed. He was always there when we needed him and constantly putting a smile on our faces. His battle with MS was constant but never seemed to slow him down. Harry (Russ) is survived by his daughter Fiona (Norm) Nealon, his grandsons Kirk (Catherine) Marsh, Cory Nealon, and granddaughter Kelsey Nealon, great grandson Lucan Kim Marsh, brother Don Marsh and his sister Anne (Alex) Flemming. Predeceased by his wife Peggy (Margaret) and his daughter Lyndsay Dianne, both of whom he missed terribly. By request no funeral service will be held. In Lieu of flowers those wishing to make a donation in memory to either the MS Society of BC, or the SPCA of BC. A small Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring, please call Fiona if interested in joining us @ 604-536-7215.
