Henry Vincent (Vin) Lougheed

Died January 13, 2005 at Peace Arch Hospital after many valiant years of struggling against several major diseases.

This cat had more than 9 lives.

Predeceased by two sons, James in 2000 and Peter in 2001.

Survived by Rose, his wife of 55 years, son Tom (Shirly Bennie), daughter Judith (Karol Kabut) daughter-in-law Marian Upex, 7 loving grandchildren, Pat, Chris, Joe, Emily, David, Tom & Scott, as well as his recently found half-sister, Naomi Elaschuk.

Vin served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII, following which he finished his degree at UBC and began teaching in Surrey.

For most of his career he taught English Lit at Princess Margaret Secondary, retiring in the early 1980's.

Besides his family, his greatest love was the sea where he spend much of his spare time on his beloved "Spree", a sloop which has now been passed onto the younger generation.

No service by request, however, the family held a tea in his honour on Thursday, January 20th between 2:30 and 4:340 at Hazelmere Country Club, 18150-8th Ave, Surrey.
