Howard passed away Sunday, August 27, after living a rewarding and active life. He is survived by Faye, his loving wife of forty-five years, three children Tracy, Shelley (Gavin), Scott (Anna) and three grandchildren, Ashley, Kelsey and Landon, his sister, Sandra Gallacher (Bob), his mother-in-law, Maxine Johnson, his sister-in-law, Georgia Cranstoun, his brother-in-law Merv Johnson (Adele) and other relatives.
Howard enjoyed a very successful career as a Chartered Accountant working first in public practice and later in the mining industry.
Above all, Howard loved spending time with family. He was a pillar of support to Faye, his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his humour, determination, commitment to others and his wisdom. He always looked at things from a positive perspective and for this he was a wonderful role model. He enjoyed traveling to most parts of the world and loved going to his favourite sunny paradise, Maui. In addition, Howard found pleasure in playing bridge with his friends, golfing, swimming, working on his computer and walking along the White Rock promenade. He will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Good Shepherd Church, 2250 - 150th Street, Surrey at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2006. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the B.C. Cancer Foundation for cancer research would be appreciated.
