NEWLANDS, Irene. Passed away August 21st 2007 at the Langley Hospice Resident. Irene was a 25 year cancer survivor and lived her life to the fullest and touched many lives with her sweet spirit and joy of living.
Irene was born March 24 1922 and is survived by her sister Hilda MacKenzie, her daughter Dianne (Wayne) Lyons, son Brian and daughter Gina (Mike) Djinovic, grandchildren James (Brenda) Lyons, Sherri (Dan) Anderson, Nicole Newlands and Serena Newlands and great grandchildren Brayden Lyons, Michelle, Allyson and Kylie Anderson. Many nieces and nephews and so many friends from her volunteer days at Kent Street Findley Pavillion, Peace Arch Auxillary Superfluity shop and Breakaway Bays Auxillary and the ladies of the Amica Group at Sunnyside United Church.
Special thanks go to the caring staff of the Community Home Health Care Nurses staff of the palliative care at Peach Arch Hospital & Dr. Dereck Lowe who helped Mom live with dignity.
Memorial Service was held Thursday Aug 30th 2007, 10.30am, at Sunnyside United Church. 15639 24 Avenue, Surrey BC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sunnyside United Church or BC Cancer Society;
