Iris Edwina ROBERTS

ROBERTS; Iris Edwina

With great sadness, we announce that Iris passed away peacefully on August 28, 2007 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock.

Born in Winnipeg, August 23, 1919, Iris spent most of her life in the White Rock and Crescent Beach area. She married the love of her life, Earl, January 27, 1940 and they spent 43 wonderful years together, both in the Lower Mainland and in the Okanagan where they successfully developed and operated summer resorts.

Mom was predeceased by Earl in 1983 and also by her parents, Frank and Linda Parslow (nee Hobbs) and brothers Ralph and Gordon. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her sons Dave (Mary-Ann and grandsons Nick and Tony) and Rich (Kathy and grandchildren Max, Amber, Jeff and Lindsay).

Iris was a tireless community worker, a lifetime member of the Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary (Sunset Group), saleslady supreme at the Superfluity Shop and a member of the Heart and Stroke Walkers Group. She was a collector of many things, including carnival glass, antiques and nice wines, but her greatest loves were her family and many friends.

The family sends many thanks to her devoted friends, relatives and neighbours for their help and support during her final years and to the caring staff on the 6th floor of Peace Arch Hospital in her final days.

Iris’ life will be celebrated in a memorial service at St. Mark’s Anglican Church (12953 – 20th Avenue, Ocean Park), Friday, August 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers to Peace Arch Hospital or a charity of your choice would be much appreciated.
