Lloyd, Ivy (nee Millward) August 31, 1907 passed away peacefully September 23, 2008. Born in England she came to Manitoba with her parents and 3 siblings. Her first days here were lived in a tent while neighbors helped the family construct a log house where the family started a homestead. Five more children were born there bringing the total to 9. Ivy was expected to help care for the younger brothers and sisters & worked hard at it. She married Clare Lloyd who died in 1970 & together they had 6 children including 2 nieces brought up as their very own. Ivy had a quick mind & until her last day remembered birth dates, dates of deaths, addresses etc. She was an excellent bridge & crib player & bowler. She knitted afghan's & dish cloths for her children & many grandchildren. She loved music and dancing and could play the piano and most of all she had a great capacity for loving. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, special friends and relatives who loved this wonderful lady.

Special thanks to staff @ Christina Place where she lived for 8 years & also for the gentle care during her final days at Ocean View Care Home. Thanks also to Gordon Ashley for his many kindnesses. A Memorial to Ivy's life will be held Sat. October 4th @ 3pm at St. Marks Anglican Church, 12953-20th Ave. Surrey. For info call 604-531-5794.
