May 24, 2007

Beaton, C.J.N. 'Jack'

Jack passed away peacefully on May 24th in Peace Arch Hospital after a multi-year battle with cancer. He was born in Viscount, Saskatchewan on February 15, 1932, and moved to Vancouver at a young age. He later served with the R.C.A.F. for twelve years including three years overseas where he met and married his wife and finished his career with the Federal Public Service, retiring in 1992.

Predeceased by brothers Bill and Elliot, he's survived by his wife of 52 years, Miriam, daughter Terry (Bernie), sons Kirk (Anna) and Blair (Pam); grandchildren Alicia, Kaitlyn, Adriana, Trevor and Jada; sisters Ulah, Rita (Jack) and Jean (Dick) and sister-in-law Irene. He will also be missed by other family members and friends in Canada, the U. K., South Africa and Australia.

Many thanks to all the medical professionals at Peace Arch Hospital, V.G.H. and the B. C. Cancer Agency who cared for him for many years and a special thanks to our family physician, Dr. Joshi.

Please join the family in a "Celebration of Life" on June 23, 2007 at 2-4pm at the Cranley Community Centre, 2141 Cranley Drive, Surrey, B. C.

In lieu of flowers a donation in his name to the B. C. Cancer Society would be appreciated.
