June 21, 2005

DAWSON, James Alexander (Jim)

Born April 13, 1924 in Vancouver, BC, died peacefully June 21, 2005 at Crescent Gardens in South Surrey. Jim will always be loved and sadly missed by Letty, his wife of 61 years, sisters Marg (Dave) and Ann (Ed), daughters Barb (Tom) and Denise (Cam), daughter-in-law Elaine (Bruce), grandchildren Corrine, Colin, Matthew (Therese), Curtis, Evan, Kyle, great-granddaughters Paige and Payton, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Stephen in 1978. Jim grew up in Vancouver, attended John Oliver High School and served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WW II. He worked in the taxi industry for many years as a much- respected owner-operator, manager and President of the Vancouver Taxi Owners, until he retired in South Surrey. We will always remember Dad for his love of family and friends, his passion for sports and the outdoors, and definitely for his sense of humor. A celebration of Jim's life will be held Thursday July 7, 2005 at 2 pm at Cam and Denise White's home in South Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
