Doyle, John Edward

April 23, 1935 -

June 23, 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Doyle at the age of 74.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Trudy, sons Mark (Ivy), Allen (Sue), Brian, James (Ximena); and 8 grandchildren; Melissa, Rachel, Emma, Carolyn, Cheri, Mike, Brett, and Matthew.

John's long adventurous career included owning a hardware store in Fort St. James, operating as a fishing and hunting guide in the Stuart, Trembleur and Takla Lakes system, teaching in a one-room school, and becoming Sales Manager in Heavy Truck sales in the Prince George area. At a young age he obtained his private pilot's licence and flew extensively. In later years his love of the sea brought him to the Vancouver area and later, White Rock. He established "Doyle's Yacht Sales" and "Granville Island Charters". In retirement John and Trudy enjoyed Takla, cruising, and wintering in the desert.

John cherished the good times with his many friends and family. He enjoyed bringing happiness to those he knew. Always knowledgeable and personable, he touched many lives. His enthusiasm and wisdom inspired others. He loved life and lived life to the fullest. He was a true friend. We loved him and will miss him.

A private celebration of his life will take place with family and friends on Saturday, July 4, 2009 from 1-4pm.
