John George Warner

WARREN, John George.

Beloved husband of Della, father, special grandfather, decorated war veteran.

Born in Nova Scotia on September 1, 1917, passed away peacefully February 5, 2006 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC at 89 years of age.

John was a proud Canadian who devoted his life to serving his country.

He joined the army in 1938 serving overseas in both World War II and again in Korea.

In 1951 John returned to Germany for a peace keeping mission that he was awarded a commendation for.

John retired from the military in 1967 and began working for the Surrey School Board as a janitor at Earl Marriott High School until 1980 when he retired to travel with his wife Della.

They spent their years enjoying Arizona in the winter and BC in the summer. John will be sadly missed by Della and all his family and friends.

Many thanks to the care staff at the Weatherby Pavilion and all the special care from White Rock Hospice Society. A special thanks to Dr. O'Brien for his kind care.

The Service will be held at the Star of the Sea, 1153 Fir Street, White Rock on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 11 a.m.

A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion #8, located on 152nd St.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the White Rock Hospice Society.


They say memories are golden,

Well maybe that is true

I never wanted memories

I only wanted you.

In life we loved you dearly

In death we love you still

In our hearts you hold a place

No one could ever fill.
