John passed away January 26, 2004 at the age of 60, after a long, courageous and inspirational battle with cancer. He is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 30 years, Audri, and his brother Ernie (Linda) Makowy of White Rock, B.C. Also survived by sister, Adeline Kelly in Kelowna. John was a special uncle to seven nephews and a niece. As an employee of Chevron, serving in their administration offices for 37 years, he was well respected by his business associates. The family is grateful for the wonderful support from many loyal friends and coworkers during John's lengthy illness. Our thanks are also extended to the caring staff at Peace Arch Hospital, especially Dr. Charles King and Dr. Karen Gelmon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Association or charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7th at 2 pm at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey, B.C.
