K, Dorothy Farrow

Passed away peacefully in her sleep just before 8:00 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Evergreen Baptist Home in White Rock.

Dorothy was born to Will and Dorothy Hieland in Halifax, NS on September 15, 1912.

She attended school in England, Germany and Calgary, AB, and raised her family in Calgary, Winnipeg, Texada Island, Vancouver and Victoria.

Dorothy studied ballet when she was young and through her appreciation of the art and love for children, for over ten years taught all types of dance to countless young ladies in the Victoria area.

Dorothy spent many years working with children through the Victoria Parks Department, Victoria Boy Scout Association, Vancouver Kiwanis Girls Club organization and the Variety Club of BC.

She was well known and loved during the 35 years she lived at Crescent Beach for her volunteer work with Crescent United Church and other charitable organizations.

She will be fondly remembered by countless families and groups for her fantastic catering services and as a caring and generous friend to all she knew.

Her endless energy, enthusiasn, and sparkling wit were absolute treasures enjoyed by many.

Dorothy was loved dearly and will be missed deeply by her brother Tom of Vernon, BC; sons Bill of Iron Bridge, ON and Wayne and daughter-in-law Patricia of Surrey; as well as grandchildren Brad, Dawn, Brent, Mark, Lisa, Jan and Mark and many great-grandchildren.

Sincere appreciation is given to the devoted, caring staff at the Evergreen Baptist Home for all the love and attention given to Mom over the past two years.

Services were held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 – 28th Avenue, Surrey, on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 11:00 am.

In place of flowers, Mom would prefer a donation in her name to the Evergreen Baptist Home, 1550 Oxford Street, White Rock, BC, V4B 3R5
