Kate Schmidtke (nee Krusche) passed away peacefully on July 25, 2003. She was born in Pabianice, Poland, on January 21, 1920 and emigrated to Canada in 1953.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Arno; children Karen and her husband Dieter, Ralf and his wife Helga, Monika and her husband Emanuel; 8 grandchildren Peter and his wife Patra, Christine and her husband Shawn, Annette, Natalie, Jessica and David; her sister Edith Fenske in Germany; nieces and nephews in Europe and California; and friends.
Funeral will take place at Zion Lutheran Church, 5950 179th Street, Cloverdale, B.C. on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. (viewing at 10:30 a.m.) Rev. H.A. Duttchen officiating. Interment to follow at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 - 28th Ave., Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Children's Fund of Canada, 1027 McNicoll Ave., Toronto, Ontario.
