Passed away peacefully on February 22, 2003 at the age of 81 after a three year battle with cancer. Leeson was born in Guangdong Province, China. Like his father before him, he left China to better the fortunes of his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years York Jang; sons Andrew (Fay), Michael (Helen); daughters Margaret (Patrick), Eileen (Jim), Teresa (Bill) and ten grandchildren. Leeson emigrated to Fiji in 1947 where he ran an import/export business. In 1965, with York Jang and the five children, he immigrated to Canada. Leeson became a local merchant in South Surrey where he ran Lee's Grocery for 17 years. Funeral service will be held at Victory Memorial, 14831- 28 Avenue, South Surrey on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 1 p.m. Thanks to Dr. P. Klimo, Dr. J. Chan and Dr. R. Cheyne. In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Cancer Society in memory of Leeson would be greatly appreciated by the family.
