MOODY, Lloyd Herbert

With great sorrow we announce the passing of Lloyd Moody in the Peace Arch Hospital on Nov. 28, 2009 at the age of 81. Dad passed away in the arms of his devoted wife of 61 years, Bernice, daughter Brenda (Terry), son Dan (Gail), grandchildren, Travis (Laura), Jeremy (Barbara), Kylie, Sean, and Christina (Jeff). He also leaves behind his cherished great grandsons, Spencer and Landon. Lloyd is survived by brother Ray (Marg) and sister Lorraine Cadwallader. Dad began his working career at the Capilano shipyards at the age of 14 and retired as maintenance supervisor of Island Paper Mills in 1991. Between working long hours and bringing up his family, he did like to take his boat out to the salt chuck and catch a salmon or two.

Dad enjoyed his retirement, traveling to New Zealand, cruising, many trips to Maui and taking Mom to Reno. He also enjoyed working on his beautiful property in Ocean Park, driving Ms Daisy and fixing anything that was “broke”. He was everyone’s plumber, electrician, mechanic and builder. He enjoyed meeting and sharing stories with everyone he met. Dad’s greatest attribute was his devotion and generosity to his family. He will continue to be our strength and courage.

The family wishes to thank the nurses on the 6th floor at Peace Arch Hospital and special thanks to Dr. “Bob” Cheyne and his wife Lynn. A gathering will be held Thurs., Dec. 10 at Belle's Restaurant, 14007 32 Ave South Surrey at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
