Lorna Mae Lewis

August 15, 2003

Lorna was born in Carman, Manitoba on June 2, 1917, the eldest child of Sam and Spray Harrison. She moved to the Kootenays in the late thirties where she lived until moving to the coast in the mid sixties. She lived in White Rock until 1999, and spent her last years at Mt. Tolmie Hospital, in Victoria, slipping away gently in the late afternoon sunshine of August 15, 2003.

She was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1968 and by her brother Ronnie and her sister Iona Moll. She is survived by her brother, Lyall Harrison, of Oliver, and her four children and their families, Lisa and Tyrrell Lewis of Kamloops; Kim Lewis of Kamloops; Ron Lewis and Susan Gillespie of Comox and their sons, Duncan and Aidan; and Patty and Bruce Kallio of Victoria and their daughters, Karin and Lisa, as well as her extended family and friends.

We remember her courage, her kindness and generosity, her unwavering support and love for all of us, her zest for parties and curling and bridge, and the feisty spirit she retained throughout her life.

Sincere thanks to the staff of Mt. Tolmie Hospital for outstanding & loving care over the past years. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Lorna's memory could consider Mt. Tolmie Hospital, Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation, 1450 Hillside Avenue, Victoria, B.C. V8T 2B7 or The Canadian Red Cross, British Columbia Fire Relief Fund, 1-800-418-1111.

A private family remembrance was held on Wednesday, August 20 in White Rock, where she rests at last beside her beloved Jim.
