GATTENS: Margaret (nee Sunne) Born August 3, 1916 in Manchester, England, Margaret passed away peacefully at Evergreen Baptist Home on July 8th, 2007 in White Rock, B.C. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years John Gattens; daughter-in-law Molly; granddaughter Cathy and nephew Les. Margaret is survived by her sons John (Maureen), Graham (Mikki) and daughter Jean (Charlie); grandchildren John (Sally), Mark (Judy), Linda (Don), Dean (Sara), Dale (Heidi), Kristin and Cameron; great grandchildren Jason, Kaeli, Rory, Adam and Emily; sister Edna Thomas (Jim) and brother-in-law Jimmy Gattens (Dorothy) and all other family in England; niece Sylvia Roberts and family and her special companion, Sydney Palmer. Margaret loved children, singing and dancing, and spending time with family and friends. She lived a long and healthy life by living for the present, enjoying every moment, and meeting each new day with the same sweet smile on her face. Her family extends heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Roberts, Dr. Fletcher and all the nurses and staff at Evergreen Baptist Home for their wonderful care and kindness. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Star of the Sea Parish, 1153 Fir Street, White Rock, B.C. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Star of the Sea Parish, 1153 Fir Street, White Rock, B.C. followed by burial at Gardens of Gethsemani Cemetery, 15800 - 32 Ave., Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B.C. Children's Hospital, 4480 Oak Street, B321, Vancouver, B.C. V6H-3V4.
