Mary HARDER

December 9, 2006

HARDER: Mary (Dyck) in her 84th year, surrounded by those she held dear, passed away peacefully at Crossroads Hospice Society in Port Moody, British Columbia on December 09, 2006 after courageously facing her cancer. Family and friends will lovingly remember her. She is survived by her daughters Barbara McLean (Jim) of Peterborough, ON, Diane Manning (Bruce) of Toronto, ON, son Don Harder (Cindy) of Langley, BC; grandchildren Kelly and Jenna, Victoria and Charles, Kesia and Graeme; great grandchildren Kyle and Lyla; sister Nettie Dyck (Pete), sister-in-law Anne Dyck; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her husband George, and infant daughter, sister Helen and brother Jack predeceased her. Born in the Ukraine, her family emigrated when she was the age of three to seek a better life in Canada. Together with her husband George of 60 years they provided that better life for their growing family, living in Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia. Mary was a warm, kind, courageous woman who loved her family dearly. Her forever-positive attitude had an influence on all whom she met. Throughout her life, her belief never faltered that, with loyalty, determination and hard work, dreams can come true. The life she lived and the love she shared with George, her family and friends, she cherished as her greatest blessings. From the fruit lands of Ontario to the beloved White Rock seacoast, she exuded an abiding passion for the beauty of nature. She will be remembered fondly for her humour, her gentle wit and boundless well of charm. Funeral service will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC on Friday December 15, 2006 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
