Schepens, Minnie Freda (nee Milner)
May 20, 1915 - Sept. 20, 2007
Peacefully in her sleep, her loving family by her side, Freda left us after a courageous and determined struggle following a stroke in 1993.
Pre-deceased by husband, Harry (1973) and brother, Billy. One day after Freda's passing, her sister Ursula joined Freda on the journey home, following a lengthy illness. Survived by five grateful children Mary Marcuk (Leo, Calgary, Ab.), John (Carolynne Pitura, Winnipeg, MB), Thomas (Barb Mitchell, S. Surrey, B.C.) Elizabeth Bartos (Paul, Atlanta, GA) and Jean Hornstein (Peter, S. Surrey, B.C.). Also three grandchildren Paul Marcuk (Cindy Le, Calgary, AB) Leo Marcuk (Heather, Calgary, AB) and Olivia Hornstein (S. Surrey), B.C.)
Our deep appreciation to the Care Aides, nurses, companions and staff at the Finlay Pavilion, Peace Arch Hospital, where mom enjoyed compassionate care for ten long years. Special thanks also to Dr. Brenda Hefford.
Funeral Service at St. Mark's Anglican Church on Thursday September 27, 2007 at 3 p.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Freda's ashes will be interred by family members at a later date, in Winnipeg. Arrangements care of Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre.
