Died peacefully on July 2, 2004, at age 94.
Moira was well known in the community as an ardent Fundraiser for Hospice, Lioness Group, Canadian Food for Children and anyone else Moira felt needed help She was singleminded in her efforts and managed to raise a lot of money over 20 years.
Moira was born in London, England in 1909. She nursed during the war and started fundraising there for orphaned children. She continued her nursing career in Canada and when, at the age of 60, she became 'disabled' by knee surgery, she began her fundraising in earnest.
Moira has been "A local Character" for many years, and will be fondly remembered.
A funeral service for Moira was held on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 11 am at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2250 - 150th St, Surrey (off 24th), Surrey. A reception followed.
