DAVIDSON, Myrtle Mary (Dewar)

born in Vancouver October 5, 1918 passed away at Peace Arch Hospital on August 6, 2006 after a brief illness.

Myrtle is predeceased by her husband Bill and sister Thelma. Myrtle will be dearly missed by her daughter Marny Gifford, son David and wife Wendie Davidson, her 4 adoring grandchildren, Kim (Ryan) Lagler, John Davidson, Erin (Keith) MacLean, David Gifford and her two cherished great grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua Lagler. Myrtle is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and very dear friends. Myrtle lived in White Rock for over 61 years and was instrumental in opening the Myrtle Davidson School of Dance in 1951 as well as being a renowned dance adjudicator. In 1961 Myrtle started her teaching career with the Surrey School District at Newton Junior teaching French and then retiring in 1976 as school counselor at Earl Marriott Secondary. After retirement Myrtle and Bill spent most of their time traveling and sharing adventures with their family. In her later years time was spent having wonderful lunches with her friends, hockey games and 50/50 with her great grandsons, and quality time with her family. Myrtle was truly loved and will never be forgotten.

The family would like extend a special thank you to Dr. Ron Matthews at Glover Medical for his care and friendship, Peace Arch Hospital Emergency and Third Floor for their exceptional care and compassion. A Celebration of Myrtle's life will be held on Saturday August 12, 2006 at 1:30 pm at Peace Portal Alliance Church corner of 152nd and King George Hwy, Surrey. Reception to follow.
