Nora Clair Britton

January 24, 2005

Born August 5, 1915 in Pointe Claire, Quebec, daughter of Sydney Carter and Gladys Bacon, passed away peacefully January 24, 2005 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock.

She was a greatly loved, valued Christian friend, companion, aunt, mother, grandhmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter Anne Woodson-Towson, her grandchildren Kimberly Thulin and David Woodson and her great-grand children, Carter and Spencer Thulin and Madison, Karley and Garrett Woodson.

She graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton in 1937 and Toronto General Hospital of Nursing in 1940.

She joined the Canadian Navy and served as 1 of 22 Naval Female Nursing Officers with the HMSC Niobe in Scotland until 1945.

She graduated from the University of Toronto School of Social Work in 1948 and worked for 30 years as a Medical Social Worker at both Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto and Bamfield Pavilion, Vancouver General Hospital.

Her life was well lived, full of adventure and service to others with dignity and grace.

We will always remember our special treasured times together.

Private service was held at Victory Memorial Funeral Park, Thursday, January 27, 2005.
