Norman James (Jim) Vaksdal

Norman James (Jim) Vaksdal, 85, died peacefully on May 27, 2017 in White Rock, British Columbia. Jim will be remembered by those who knew him for his animated storytelling, sense of humour and unwavering love for his family. Jim was born on May 22, 1932 in Lake Alma, Saskatchewan to Helmar and Hansine Vaksdal. He is predeceased by his first wife Norma and his sister Sylvia. Jim is survived by wife Evelyn, daughter Myrna, son Lonnie (Cathy), granddaughters Mindy, Ashley, Angela and Chloe, and six great grandchildren. Also, stepsons Bruce (Peggy), Brian (Lynn) and Rob and step grandchildren Shawn, Christina, Jenna and Jessica. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30pm, Thursday June 1, 2017 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jim’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Jim’s name.
