POPOFF, Peter

Born June 26th, 1921 in his parents farmhouse near Asquith, SK, died January 13th, 2010 in Evergreen Baptist Home, White Rock, BC. Peter was born to parents William and Mary Popoff. Peter is survived by his loving wife Helen (nee Hiebert) and his daughter Juanita, Gordon and Stuart.

Peter spent his first 51 years in Saskatchewan mostly working on the family farm. The rest of his days were spent in White Rock, BC.

Some of Peter’s proud accomplishments were being a lifetime member of the National Farmers Union, the Canadian National Institute for the blind, President for a time with the White Cane Club, the Canada-USSR Friendship Society and being involved in local politics. Peter was a wonderful and caring soul who always had a great smile and brought joy to everyone he met. Despite being blind for most of his life, he never let it stop him from getting around. We will miss his laughter, singing tunes and his braveness during his battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

A warm thank you goes out to the staff on D2 at Evergreen. You gave him and his family comfort when he needed special care. Since his family is spread out over many provinces, we will ask those who knew him to remember him for a moment or two on Tuesday, February 23rd at 3:10 pm.

We will love & miss you Dad

You will forever be warming our hearts and souls.

”We will meet again someday”.
