KENNEDY, RITA MARIE with deep sorrow and sadness, the family of Rita Kennedy regretfully announce her passing away on June 10, 2008, at the age of 92, in White Rock, with her family by her side. Survived by her sister Leona (Ray), daughters Carol (Peter) and Janet, and grandchildren, Quinn and Phelan, dearest friends Phyllis and Jimmy McCorkell, and Lillian MacDonald. Rita was born in Athol, New Brunswick, on June 8, 1916. Raising her children on her own in Montreal, Rita worked with the firm of John Boa up until her retirement in 1987 at the age of 71. She then moved to White Rock to be with her childen and grandchildren in 1991. Rita will be fondly remembered for her quiet strength, proud independence and caring devotion to her family. A funeral mass will be held at Star of the Sea Church, 1153 Fir St., White Rock, on Tuesday, June 17th, at 9:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
