Robert H. LANG

August 27, 2006

LANG: Robert H. Lang, known to all as "Pastor Bob" went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 27th, 2006. He had been serving as chaplain at Evergreen Baptist Home, in White Rock, until his diagnosis with cancer in 2004.

Pastor Bob was born March 30, 1947 in Wolf Point, MT. The son of a Baptist minister, Bob learned at an early age about service, compassion, and the importance of sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ with those around him, thus his calling into full-time Christian service.

Upon receiving degrees from Tabor College, in Hillsboro, Kansas, and North American Baptist Seminary, in Sioux Falls, SD, Pastor Bob served churches in Oregon, Montana, California, Minnesota, North Dakota, Washington, and BC.

A man of endless energy and commitment, his passion, joy and exuberance were infectious. Pastor Bob was a stranger to no one. Once he knew your name, he never forgot it, and once you had met him, you would never forget his caring spirit, his sense of humor and most importantly, his love for Jesus Christ.

He leaves behind his wife, Phyllis, of 33 years, his daughter, Nicole Lang, his mother Leona Lang, a brother Larry Lang, and sister Mary Dobrinski. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Henry Lang, and a daughter, Jenifer Lang.

He will be missed greatly by relatives, friends, and others whose lives were touched by him.

The family wishes to invite those who knew and loved Pastor Bob to a viewing at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Center, on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 6-8pm. Memorial services will be held on August 31st at Evergreen Baptist Home at 9:30 am, and Bethany Baptist Church in New Westminster at 2pm.

A memorial scholarship fund for the North American Baptist Seminary has been established in honor of Pastor Bob Lang.
