Robert Scott

SCOTT: Robert G. P.Eng. born November 28, 1911 in Listowell, Ontario, passed away in Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock on March 2, 2004. His wife Evaleen predeceased Bob in 1977. Survived by his son Paul R. Scott, daughter Sherry J. Scott, granddaughter Christie VanEk, Kimberly Kerr as well as great grandchildren Taylor Jane and Scotty VanEk, wife Marjorie Scott, stepdaughter Marilyn Intile, stepson Ron Camp, stepson-in-law Ron Myslicki and their families.

Bob graduated in Engineering from the University of Alberta and spent his working years in the electrical business.

During the Second World War he served his country as an Officer in the Canadian Navy with responsibilities for protecting ships from magnetic mines. After the war he worked briefly with Canadian General Electric then devoted his time to the electrical industry in British Columbia - mostly with B.C. Electric Company where he was Assistant General Manager responsible for electric and natural gas sales. Later with B.C. Hydro - he was in charge of marketing and advertising programs and represented electrical operations in setting customer service policies and procedures. After leaving B.C. Hydro, Bob continued in the electric equipment supply and distribution business as President of Van Horne electric. Bob had an active role, and was well known, in several electrical service organizations including The Electric Service League of B.C., The Canadian Eletrical Association, NELPA and The Vancouver Electric Club.

During Bob's retirement he enjoyed spending his days sitting in his favorite chair reading a good book, solving Mensa puzzles, engaging in stimulating debates and periodically swapping stories with his golf buddies.
