Ron Fowler

July 20, 1947 – March 6, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron. Ron is survived by his wife Joan of 34 years and 3 sons, Stephen, Neil and Daniel and many relatives and friends. His 2 little dogs, who he adored, will also miss him. Ron led a very full life. He enjoyed his long walks through the Semiahmoo Trails and White Rock beach. Ron was a life time volunteer, starting with being a Big Brother, becoming a football coach, volunteering at the church and with Semiahmoo Minor Hockey. He had a love of sports. Played football in his younger years with Vancouver Blue Bombers and he was drafted by the BC Lions while he played for UBC Thunderbirds. He also never missed the kids’ games or shows. He was often seen on the sidelines sporting a drum and a wacky hat, also a fixture with his drum at the Surrey Eagles games for many years. Ron never missed an opportunity to play Santa and bring joy to many children and adults alike. Ron’s sense of humor kept him in trouble and always laughing. It will surely be missed. Services were held on Tuesday, March 14. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. http://www.alzheimer.ca/en/bc/We-can-help Condolences may be offered at www.victoryfuneralcentre.ca
