ROSE JESSAMINE Lougheed

February 27, 2007

LOUGHEED, Rose Jessamine

Rose died February 16, 2007 at Morgan Place Care Facility in the company of family. She was born in Nelson on July 11, 1928, the 9th and final child of David and Cecilia Beattie. She moved to Vancouver in her early teens and spent the rest of her life in the Lower Mainland, the last 35 years in White Rock.

Besides family, Rose's passions were music and teaching. She taught elementary school in Surrey and White Rock for over 25 years and was active in the arts community.

The last several years of her life were painful due to the death of her beloved sons, James in November 2000 and Peter in May 2001, as well as the ongoing illnesses of her husband Vincent, who died in January 2005. She has now been released.

Rose is survived by son Thomas (Shirley Bennie), daughter Judith (Karol Kabut), daughter-in-law Marian Upex and 7 delightful grandchildren, Patrick, Christopher, Joseph, Emily, David, Thomas and Scott. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Don and Bob, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Morgan Place for their compassion and care, particularly during Rose's last days.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 2nd at 1 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 28 Ave. Surrey, BC. Reception to follow.
