Rose L. Henderson

February 28, 2003

Rose L. Henderson (nee McEwan) passed away on February 28, 2003 at Finlay 2 Pavillion, Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, B.C.

Rose was born in Glasgow, Scotland on May 11, 1916. She will be fondly remembered by her son Don Henderson (Ruth) and daughter June MacLean (Don) and grandchildren Kim, Sean, Bob and Jill. Rose was predeceased by her husband Allen who passed away on December 20, 2002. Rose is survived by sisters Millie and Beryl and by her brother Gordon (Joyce) in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

After graduation from Kelvin High School and Wesley College in Winnipeg, Rose entered Normal School in Tuxedo from which she received her Provincial Teacher's Certificate. Her first teaching position was at the one-room Camperdown School at Glenella, Manitoba. Rose's next teaching position was in Tyndall, Manitoba. After her marriage to Allen, Rose spent several years as a homemaker before resuming her teaching career with the Winnipeg School Board. Rose taught grade three at LaVerandre School prior to moving to Dorval, Quebec. While living in Dorval, Al and Rose spent many weekends at their Falcon Lake, Manitoba cottage which later would become their first retirement home. They followed their children to the West Coast and lived on 20th Avenue in the White Rock area.

Rose and Al enjoyed their daily walks along Crescent Beach where they would visit other walkers. Rose resided in Finlay 2 Pavillion for the last four years.

At Rose's request there will not be a service so we will remember her in our own special way.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rose could be made to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, 15521 Russell Ave., White Rock, B.C. V4B 2R4.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the caring staff at the Finlay 2 Pavilion and Dr. prentice.

- Mom and Grams we love you ! -
