JELLY, ROY LAWRENCE

Roy Lawrence Jelly, born in Vancouver on October 6th, 1921, passed away peacefully on July 26th, 2006 in White Rock, his home of 44 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie and their daughters, Diane Bain (David) and Eileen Bentley (Rick), grandchildren, Josh (Melissa), Luke, Joel, Joanna Bentley, Margaret, Sarah and Peter Bain, and great-granddaughter, Keanna Bentley. He is pre-deceased by his two sisters, Thelma Pohl and Melani Mary Conlyn. Roy was the founder and original publisher of the Peace Arch News. After his retirement in 1985 he continued his involvement in the community as a founding member of the Peninsula Arts Foundation and as a

Rotarian. He was a strong supporter of the Arts in White Rock. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roy's name may be made to the Peninsula Arts Foundation. Many thanks to Dr. Gibbings and the 3rd Floor staff at Peace Arch Hospital. Memorial Service will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28th Ave, Surrey, B.C. on Thursday, August 3rd at 2 p.m.
