PLAIN, Ruth Leona

Plain, Ruth Leona (nee Hein) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 21, 2008 at Peace Arch Hospital. Born December 17, 1922 in Waskatenau, Alberta, Ruth was a 51-year resident of White Rock. A loving and beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, David, in 2000, one sister and four brothers. She is survived by sister Esther (Harold), brothers Gary (Winnie) and Walter (Eva) and her children Eleanor (Fred) Holton, Dwight (Gail) Plain, Adelle Rennie and Janelle (Gordon) Stewart; also grandchildren Kevin, Keith (Naomi) and Craig Plain, Miko (Jason) Miller, Kylie Nabata and Ryan, Ashley Ann and Ben Stewart and great-grandchildren Clara and Colin Plain and Beckham Miller. Ruth worked with children with special needs in the Surrey School District for 15 years, and saw the beauty, value and positive potential in everyone regardless of their ability. Her lovingly made afghans and baby blankets will continue to bring warmth to generations of family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday Nov. 1st, at 2pm at Victory Memorial Park at 14831 - 28th Ave. in Surrey.
