Ruth McBride, born in Bella Bella, BC on December 3, 1930, passed away peacefully at her home in White Rock on July 22, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is lovingly remembered by Hank, her husband of 54 years, their daughter Gail, son Bert and his wife Julie.
She will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren, Stephanie, Martin and Alayna, as well as her other family members and many friend.
Ruth was an exceptionally strong, independent spirit and provided much inspiration to her family and others She was a real trooper and a great partner, 'port captain', mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Ruth always had so much grace and compassion.
She had a quiet presence but her wisdom, generosity and kindness touched many.
Her spirit and the wonderful memories of her will live with all of us in many ways.
We love her forever.
We would particularly like to thank her fmaily physician, Dr. C.Ruffo and the many caring people from the White Rock home care and palliative support service organization who helped her through the final stages of her illness.
A celebration of Ruth's life was held Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 3 pm at the Hazelmere Country Club, 18150 - 8th Avenue, Surrey, BC
In lieu of flowers the family would suggest donations in Ruth's memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
