CARMICHAEL- Sheila May
June 18, 1942-August 21, 2007
Sheila went to be with her Lord surrounded by her devoted husband and immediate family. She faced the debilitating effects of non-Hodgkins lymphoma for 4 years with great courage and a quiet confidence in God. Noted for her grace and giving spirit, Sheila was cherished by those who knew her and loved by all. She is survived by her husband David, sons Rob (Melanie), and Mark (Teriann), daughter Leigh-Anne (Tim) Rourke, grandchildren Sydney, Brendan, Randy, Taylor, Steven, Courtney and Hayden, predeceased by sister Margaret Hicks, survived by sister Jean Tweed, and brothers John (Helen) and Douglas (Phyllis) Vincent, Aunt May Ellis and special cousins Reg and Ken Ellis.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, August 28th at Peace Portal Alliance church. A memorial fund has been established in Sheila's name. The monies will be donated to the Dalit Freedom Network Canada, a charitable organization that provides education and schools for India's untouchables.
