ROSS, Shirley Otha (Nee McCurdy). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley in her 84th year on January 22, 2009 at the Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, BC. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Gordon, of 58 years, as well as her daughter Gail of Surrey and her son Kenneth of Mission Viejo, California. Shirley has also been blessed with three beautiful and talented granddaughters of whom she was immensely proud, Meghan Ross-Daniel of Vancouver and Stephanie and Amanda Ross of California. Wherever Shirley resided she was always very active volunteering for good causes; in Montreal at the Lakeshore general Hospital; in Toronto at the Salvation Army Grace Hospital for over 12 years and more recently in Surrey; at the Salvation Army, The Peace Arch Community Services, the Peace Arch Hospital and the local Community Police Station. During the last few weeks of her life she received loving and tender care from the nurses and staff on the 6th floor of the Peace Arch Hospital for which her family is most grateful. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to donate, in her memory to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park Cemetery, 14831 - 28 Ave, Surrey, BC.
