Sidney Oliver

March 12, 2006

With great sadness we announce the passing of Sid on March 12, 2006 at the age of 94, at his home in South Surrey after a courageous battle with cancer. Sid was born in Hull, England on December 15, 1911.

He came to Canada at a young age from Dr. Barnardo's home settling in Ontario and moved west in the early fifties, was overseas in CDN Army Medical Corps 1940-45, and retired from Alcan (Kitimat) in the early seventies.

Sid leaves to cherish, his loving wife Audrey, son Jim (Verna), daughter Carole (Lou), 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, dear friends Rudy, Annie and family, families of Joyce and Vera in England and numerous other friends. He will be missed by all his family and friends but will continue to live in the hearts of all who were blessed by his spirit.

Funeral services for Sid will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd at 2 pm at the Anglican Church of The Holy Trinity, 15115 Roper Avenue in White Rock.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Research or Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity would be greatly appreciated.

Special thanks to the staff of the Peace Arch Hospital and South Surrey Fire Department and Ambulance Service.
