GREEN, Stanley Clemis Dashwood


It is with a great celebration of a long and strong zest for life, the Dashwood Green family announce the passage of Stanley Clemis Calder Dashwood Green, born January 30th, 1925 to our beloved God, peacefully with a good fight at the age of 92. Survived by Donald James Green, James Green, Patrick Lawrence Dashwood Green, Georgina Grace Peterson Green and the pillar of strength, Mary Ione Green.



A survivor as a volunteer on RCNVR Division Discovery, volunteered under hostilities of his beloved country, Canada, and the Queen, the 7th of July, 1944 to protect the Pacific Theatre. Discharged under full duty with service on Carwallis / H.M. Hamiliton, Peregrine, the Etobe, Crescent, Nader, Discovery and full service on the High Seas, he received $100 for plain clothes gratuity.


Son of Sidney Nelvile Green and Grace Constance Dashwood Jones, he now has been laid to rest with his family at the Fraser View Family plot in New Westminster overlooking the Mighty Fraser. After his naval career, he acquired an agricultural degree at UBC, after which he joined BC Hydro. A passionate fisherman like his father, always rumoured about the best fishing hole on the Fraser and the big one that got away.
