Stella Helene Jensen

February 21, 2004

Stella Helene (Poulsen) was born on June 6, 1916 in Taasinge, Denmark, and died peacefully in her sleep on February 21, 2004.

Stella made Surrey her home in 1952, moving here from Denmark with her husband, Elis and children Dorthe (Davison) and Mads. Son Tom was born in Canada soon after their arrival.

The Jensens established Stellar Ice Cream in Clayton and Stella spent many summers driving the ice cream truck throughout the neighbourhoods of Surrey. She was a talented knitter and crafter, an avid bowler and enjoyed playing the organ. She made a mean "frikadelle" and always had room for one more at her dinner table. Stella kept close ties with the Danish community and volunteered her time and talents to many local organizations such as Granly Danish Lutheran Church, Peace Arch Hospital, and the White Rock Order of Eagles. Stella was also a great animal lover - donations in her name to the Pet Rescue Society of your choice would be appreciated.

A Service of Remembrance was held on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28th Avenue, Surrey.

"Farvel, Stella og mange tak".
