ERRATH: Thomas R. (Tom) passed away April 3rd, 2006. Born August 22nd, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Errath was a beer industry marketing and broadcast executive in a career that spanned 30 years. He began in the business with the Joseph Shlitz Brewing Company in Milwaukee, WI. where he rose from a field sales representative to Vice President of Marketing. He then moved to John Labatt Limited in Toronto, Ontario where he was Vice President of Marketing with responsibilities for all worldwide beer marketing and President of the John Labatt Entertainment Group, a film, television and concert production group. Career accomplishments included the introduction of Anheuser Busch brands Budweiser, Bud Light and Michelob to Canada, the development of TV Labatt a production company that produced Toronto Blue Jay baseball games, acquired Major League Baseball and National Football League broadcast rights for Canada and serving as President of Labatt Entertainment Group through its subsidiary BCL managed international concert production, promotion and licensing for such bands as the Rolling Stones, the Who and Pink Floyd. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin in 1959 and Wauwatosa High School in 1955. Predeceased by his wife Susan to whom he was married to for 45 years; Father of Linda Allen (Chris) of Deerfield, IL, Thomas II (Debbie) of Winnetka, IL, Julie Chesledon (Ted), of Seattle, WA, Son-in-law of Beverly Maerker and the late Hugo Maerker, Brother-in-law of Jeff Maerker (Dawn), Grandfather to Thomas III, William, Nicholas, Allison and Jake. Thank you to wonderful friends and the thoughtful staff at Peace Arch Hospital for the care he received over the past several months. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, 15521 Russell Ave., White Rock, B.C. V4B-2R4.
