VERA LEIFSO (1917 - 2008) was the oldest child of Robert and Christine Dixon. She lived in Regina, Saskatchewan and Pouce Coupe and Dawson Creek, BC. Vera married Carl Leifso living in Crane Valley, Saskatchewan on a family farm. She was very active all her life, entering University and becoming a Teacher at the age of 51. Vera taught in Crane Valley and Moose Jaw, retiring in 1982, and then again from substitute teaching in 1999 when she moved from Moose Jaw to White Rock, BC. Vera had traveled the world, making many friends. She sang in Moose Jaw and White Rock community and church choirs. Without complaint she thought of others first. She was able to enjoy 3 grandchildren and 5 great grand children, socializing with family and friends into her last few weeks. She passed away in Crescent Gardens with family at her side. Vera was pre-deceased by husband Carl and daughter Lois. She is survived by son Lowell (Genelle), grandsons Chris (Kim), Kirk (Brenda) and Aaron (Nicolie), and brother George (Tru). She will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held for all to attend Saturday March 15, 2008 at 2pm at St Mark's Ocean Park Anglican, 12953 - 20th Ave., South Surrey. A Reception to celebrate her life follows in the church hall.
