JONES, Violet Margaret passed away peacefully in Surrey on October 10, 2006, at the age of 78. Born in Cloverdale on June 26, 1928, Violet will be greatly missed, having touched the lives of her family and friends so profoundly. Predeceased by her daughter Donna McGlashan and grandchildren Christie & Liam McGlashan, she is survived by her husband of 56 years Dalton, children: Darryl (Toni), Phillip (Holly), Sandra (Sean), grandchildren: Jessica, Jamie, Dalton , Conlan, Morgan, Alden, Brennan, Hayden, Leigh, son in-law Alan, her siblings Mabel & Grace (Larry), Chris (Elsie), sisters-in-law Cali & Clarice and many nieces and nephews.
Violet was a vibrant and social woman who enjoyed her years of golf at Hazelmere with the golfing gals, dancing with the Hazelmere crowd, winters spent in Palm Springs with Dalton, and celebrating with her family and friends.
Her family wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Peace Arch District Hospital's Emergency Department, Dr. Paton, Dr. Turner and the nurses of 3rd floor medical for the tremendous care given to Violet.
A memorial service will be held at First United Church in White Rock (15385 Semiahmoo Ave) on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Parkinson Society (British Columbia) or the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.
