Virginia Ann Brown

January 15, 2004

Virginia Ann Brown (nee Lotochinski) June 18, 1958 - January 15, 2004. Virginia was diagnosed about a year ago with a virulent form of cancer which, despite aggressive surgical, chemical and radiation therapies, claimed her young life. She passed away at her parents' home, surrounded by her family. Virginia is survived by her gift of life - a baby boy, Aiden Hawk Ogilvie, born August 30, 2003. Aiden's excellent health and pleasant nature were a joy to Virginia especially during her last days. Virginia is also survived by her parents, Pat and Gary Lotochinski of Kelowna, sister Brenda (Fort McMurray) and Jean (Kelowna), brothers Charles (Swift Current) and Matthew (Kelowna). "Auntie" Virginia will be greatly missed by her nieces Evelyn (Fort McMurray), Annie (Swift Current) and Iliana and Danica (Kelowna). Virginia also leaves her two grandmothers, Annie Watson and Christina Lotochinski both of Westbank. Virginia spent much of the last ten years in White Rock, where her many acquaintances will treasure her friendship and remember her artistic and decorative talents and her love of the outdoors. At Virginia's request, her remains were cremated. A simple memorial service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna (telephone 250-860-7077). Those who wish to do so, may make a donation to a charity of their choice in Virginia's name.
