CLANCY, Wilhelmina Johanna Maria

November 23, 1941 – May 14, 2017

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wilhelmina (Willy) Clancy. A loving wife, mother, Oma, sister and friend, she touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her.

Willy leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Pat; her children Brian (Laurie), Patrick (Gina), Thomas and Dina (Eric); her grandchildren Jacob, Aidan, Joshua, Sophia, Orlaith, EJ, Paddy and Dannan who brought so much joy to her life; her brothers and sisters in Holland, and many,

many friends Willy was born in Breda, Holland in 1941. Her family immigrated to Australia when she was 17 where she met Pat at a beach party in 1962, they married a short time later. Pat and Willy moved to Toronto where they started their family and raised their four children until they

moved to BC in the late 70s. Willy was devoted to her family and spent many happy hours volunteering and supporting her sons on the football field and her daughter in her equestrian events. In later years, she was a regular fan at all of her grandchildren’s many events. A long-time resident of White Rock, Willy, along with her daughter Dina, established Clancy’s Tea Cosy in 1993. Over the next several

years, Willy welcomed many guests and friends to the Tea Cosy. Upon retirement, Willy loved traveling to some of her favourite destinations such as Long Beach and Hawaii and visiting her family in Holland. She cherished spending time with her family and her many friends.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Peach Arch Hospice

for their tender care of Willy in her final days. To honour Willy’s wishes, an intimate gathering of family and friends will be held in the coming weeks to celebrate her life. Please contact the family for further details.

In lieu of flowers a donation to Pacific Riding for Developing Abilities, Langley

in Willy’s memory would be appreciated
