Birch, Zeverta Darran

Zeverta Darran (Danny) passed away peacefully September 16th, 2008 at the age of 67 in Surrey, BC.

Danny is survived by his siblings Patricia (New York), Ramona (Florida), and Demetrius (Barbados), his wife of 30 years PJ, children David, Stephen (Nancy), Kimberley (Wayne) and Ted (Jodie). He is also survived by his grandchildren Jamie, Christopher, TiVi, Sunni, Maguire, Sawyer and Sadie, his mother-in-law Dorothy Pawson, Sister's in-law Alana (Ray), Nancy, Linda and Brother-in-law David (Denise) as well as many nieces and nephews.

As a young man, Danny left his hometown of Bridgetown (St. Michael's) Barbados to pursue an education in Canada. He graduated from McGill University with honours in the early 1960's then moved to Vancouver where he began a career working for Sun Life Assurance Company. He loved the business and was extremely well respected by his colleagues and clients alike. Danny retired in 1998 due to ill health.

Danny was a man who loved a good party, good food and good music. He often reminisced about the "Good times" with friends and family. While challenging, Danny's last years were spent quietly enjoying time with his wife and family. He will be missed.

At Danny's request, there will be no service. Donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated.
