White Rock city bureaucracy is at it again.

It appears they are needing extra revenue, so they decided to go after the homeowner.

Case in point, about two weeks ago, my husband’s car received a parking violation. It has since been cancelled but the stench of this circumstance lingers!

His car was ticketed for parking on a “landscaped boulevard.” The public should understand this “landscaped boulevard” is directly in front of our property. This “landscaped boulevard” has been defined as “that portion of the boulevard which has been improved with sod, plants etc.”

Our street does not have sidewalks or curbs. Many homes on this street have a one-car garage and do not have enough space on their driveway to accommodate more than one vehicle.

A letter from the city’s manager of parking states the following: Typically the city will only enforce this particular section of the bylaw upon complaint, or if the officers feel there is a safety concern.

Further, he states: “If you have visitors and your driveway cannot accommodate their vehicles, I would suggest that they park on the street.”

Really, City of White Rock? With longer daylight hours and kids playing, do you not see this as a safety hazard?

When does this witch-hunt stop?
