The dangerous-goods cargoes have to be rerouted so that first responders can access disaster when it occurs.

The trains did not carry these commodities in the early years, therefore the potential for catastrophic events did not exist.

This would be the first step in realigning the track issue. This move would safeguard Peninsula residents. If this revenue stream was denied, BNSF may look at relocation.

In the meantime, the tracks could be beneficial for Surrey and White Rock if the passenger trains stopped in White Rock.

Perhaps a Budd car shuttling back and forth to SkyTrain’s Scott Road Station could alleviate some of the traffic on Highway 99.
