“Finally, 24 Avenue to be widened.” I’m sure many of your readers would be overwhelmed with shouts of “alright” and “way to go,” if that were the headline on this letter. However, the disappointment continues.

Who would have allowed such massive development along the 24 Avenue corridor without having in place a suitable road system that will move the traffic out from homes into the community and then into the full spectrum of the valley and the Greater Vancouver area? I am not sure who is calling these shots and making these decisions for Surrey road development, but this one, once again, is far behind.

How many thousands of homes have been built in the last three to four years in the Grandview Heights and Morgan Crossing locations, while keeping the main route in and out basically the same as it was 10 years ago?

Are we simply attempting to create our own traffic overload in the South Surrey region by approving more residential development, while maintaining a ‘status quo’ for road expansion?
