Editor:

Could the City of White Rock be persuaded to change their workday hours beginning at 9 a.m. rather than the 8 a.m. presently in effect?

Promptly at 8 a.m., the men come marching down the street with their leaf blowers on their backs. I am referring to the ghastly noise they make, especially when there is two of them.

There are several of us retirees living in this town. Many of us do not sleep well during the night and try to squeeze in a few winks during the morning hours; not to be had, however, under the present circumstances even with earplugs.

We are not as large or noisy as our neighbours all around us, nor do we want to be.

What can we do to keep our town the lovely place it once was?
